Alison Bray, Owner/Director/Instructor– Alison is a dancer from Denver, Colorado. She has been dancing since the age of 7 and trained at Little Theater Culture Center in Lakewood, CO. She has over 25 years of dance experience and has been teaching all levels of dance for over 18 years. She is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Tap, Hip-Hop, Pom and anything in between! During her intermediate training, She was the choreographer and captain of the Wheat Ridge HS Dance Team and competed all around the country both with her studio and high school team. Alison was then selected to work for the Universal Dance Association (Memphis,TN) to work and travel as a Head Instructor for the company. She was selected to perform and teach at both High School and College level dance camps around the country. She even got to perform at the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon in Las Vegas!
During that time, Alison attended Colorado State University and earned a Bachelors Degree In Dance. At Colorado State, she trained under dance masters Chung-Fu Chang, Carol Roderick, David Taylor, Jane Slusarski- Harris and many more! She trained in Ballet, Modern, Teaching Pedagogy, Theater Design, Choreography to name a few. She was selected to perform and many college dance festivals around the country including the American College Dance Festival Association in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She was a member of CSU’s Tour Dance Company and also Captain and Choreographer of Colorado State University’s Golden Pom Dance Team, with whom she performed at the Universal Dance Association’s College Dance Team Championship.
After college Alison went on to perform and tour the world working for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises and Holland America Line. She spent about 7 years at sea, traveled to over 50 countries and got to perform in high energy shows every night! Alison also danced for Stiletto Entertainment (Los Angeles, CA) RWS Entertainment Group (New York, NY) Legends in Concert (Las Vegas, NV) The Smoky Mountain Opry (Pigeon Forge, TN) and many more.
Most recently, Alison was performing on “The World Stage” on-board Holland America Line’s MS Koningsdam. There, she and Elevate Dance Co’s Guitar Instructor, Scott, got engaged after working together on ships for years! The two recently tied the knot and have settled in Iowa to start a whole new adventure together! Alison is thrilled to get the chance to bring her talents to Iowa and share her love for dance with dancers of all ages and levels!
Scott Kruser, Owner/Guitar Instructor– is a guitarist/composer/educator originally from Dubuque, IA. Scott obtained a M.M. in jazz studies from the University of North Texas in 2011 and held the guitar chair in the six time Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band from 2010-2011. He was granted a teaching fellow position from 2009-2011 where he directed the L-5 and Super 400 guitar ensembles along with teaching applied jazz guitar. Scott earned his B.M in performance from the University of Northern Colorado in 2008 and won numerous Downbeat awards as a member of UNC’s Lab 1. Scott has shared the stage with luminaries such as, Bob Mintzer, Ravi Coltrane, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Darcy James Argue, Bob Curnow, Kevin Mahogany, Geoff Keezer, and James Carter among others. Scott has recorded as a sideman often and with a collective group called Megalodon. Recently, Scott has been performing as a bandleader/guitarist on board Holland America and Norwegian cruise ships with the show Rock of Ages and Post Modern Jukebox.
